Prepare for the Naturalization Test

  • This class will meet twice a week for 6 weeks. Topics will include the 100 questions, basic English needed for the test, and what to expect during the test. This class is free and open to anyone who is seeking to take the Naturalization Test. Participants are welcome to bring one guest to help, if needed.
  • Three sessions will be offered in 2019.
  • You can be anywhere in the application process, and you do not need to submit N-400 before taking the class.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring paper and pens.

English for Beginners (Level 1, 2, and 3)

  • Twinsburg Public Library offers English for Beginners: Levels 1, 2, and 3 three times in 2019. These classes follow a Flipped Classroom model. Students watch the lectures online and complete activities in the classroom under the guidance of an instructor. Students can watch lectures as many times as they would like or need.
  • Watch the lectures on the Library‚Äôs YouTube channel or check them out on DVD.
  • Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays for six weeks per level. The goal of these classes is to help new speakers learn how to speak English for citizenship. These classes take a practical approach for Adults who have never spoken English or who know a little English. Click for calendar.
  • Students do not have to take all three.
  • All English classes require you to check out a text book; You can purchase a workbook for $8.00, but it is not required.

One-on-One Tutoring for English

  • Schedule a one-on-one (or two) session to practice conversation, to review grammar, or to write essays.
  • Free and open to adult learners.
  • Each session is one hour, and each student may only sign up for one session a week, due to demand.
  • Sessions are from 2:00- 3:00 pm and 3:00- 4:00 pm on Tuesdays only.

English Language Learners Practice Club

  • Meets the Second Tuesday of each month from January to October. (No meeting in March 2019.)
  • Topics are posted in the calendar.
  • No sign up necessary.
  • Free and open to adult learners.

Project Learn of Summit County


  • English speakers of other languages can improve their English writing and speaking abilities by attending the ESOL class offered by Project Learn of Summit County.
  • A required two-day orientation takes place at Stow-Munroe Falls High School (3227 Graham Rd., Stow, OH 44224) or at Akron-Summit County Public Library (Lower Level, Project Learn). There are morning and evening options; however, students must have a scheduled appointment to attend.
  • Once the orientation is complete, students may choose to attend classes at the Twinsburg Public Library; they meet every Tuesday and Thursday most weeks of the year. Register by calling Project Learn at (330) 434-9461.
