AARP Tax Assistance

David Warrington, District Coordinator for the AARP Tax-Aide program in Summit county, has regretfully announced that they will be unable to provide service at the Twinsburg Public Library during the upcoming 2019 Tax Season. With his announcement, David stated: “We realize that many members of the community have benefitted from, and relied on, this service for a number of years. Unfortunately, we have been unable to recruit a sufficient number of qualified volunteers to properly staff the Twinsburg Public Library site in 2019. By mid-January, 2019 you should be able to search for other AARP Tax-Aide sites by visiting the AARP.org webpage and typing ”Tax-Aide locator” into the search box on their site (look for the magnifying glass). We regret not being able to return for the 2019 Tax Season, but we will reevaluate our volunteer staffing next year and try again in 2020. If you are interested in being a Tax-Aide volunteer, you can find more information at: https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/.”

The Library will provide the following resources for tax assistance:

  • Programs hosted by qualified speakers throughout tax season
  • Assistance locating alternate locations for AARP tax preparation
  • Referrals to resources in the community
  • While librarians cannot legally give tax advice, the Reference Desk can point you to books and web resources to help you file your own taxes. Please see IRS Free File for more information.
